Let's forget that in 1984 George Orwell inadvertently named that hideous culture destroying reality TV show, because although 1984 has become unfairly dismissed by many as little more than a gateway for over-earnest teenage political awakenings, the truth is that it a work of literary genius. Influencing countless authors to follow and seeping into all our conciousness' in some form or another, even those that have never read it seem to know it's themes.
